That it has lived up to its reputation. It's diverse methods of teaching including field trips gives students a positive method of education.

What are the best bits of studying at Brookes?

The mix of studying and socialising.

What advice do you have for others?

Ensure you commence your Brookes experience by living in Halls. This is where the majority of students start there beginning chapter of University.

What are your plans for when you’ve completed your course, for work or further study?

To continue working for BAM Construction as a Quantity Surveyor (Final details to be agreed).

What do you think of the industrial placement aspect of your course?

I find learning with hands on experience fundamental to the overall course. The placement has been extremely informative and a great learning curve.

Project description

Working on the Kings Cross regeneration project. It’s a 2 Billion pound program stretched over a decade of construction. Internationally renowned companies are rumoured to be looking for HQ’s in the area.

A Site wide construction team; inclusive of Designers, Engineers, MEPH

Experience gained

Completing and sending out tender enquiries. Dealing with Variation Accounts. Creating tender comparisons. Raising orders and issuing payments. Measuring works. Liaising with subcontractors and consultants. Attending meetings with Clients / Directors and Work Colleges.
