Before you came to Brookes what did you study and where?
I studied business, drama, and media at Brockenhurst college in Southampton.
What made you choose Brookes as a place to study?
I'd heard good things about Brookes. I'd also visited the city before and thought it seemed like a nice place to be.
What do you think of the course now you're here?
I think its good, especially as it has a placement year. It can help give you direction and something to work towards.
What do you think of the industrial placement aspect of your course?
I think it's vital. My knowledge and understanding of the industry has improved dramatically as a result of going on placement.
What are your plans for when you've completed your course, for work or further study?
I think after my course I will look to work full-time. Hopefully for the company I am on placement with.
What are the best bits of studying at Brookes?
Learning new things to help steer you towards your chosen career path and ultimately help you get what you want out of life. The social side is always good too!
What advice do you have for others?
Work hard, play hard...and enjoy what you do!
Design and build a new technology block for a 6th form school in the south of England. The job is worth around £3,000,000.

Assisting management of site, including ordering materials, site diary, site inductions, making a newsletter for the school. Ensuring we achieve a rating of 'Very Good' from BREEAM. Quality monitioring of Sub-contractor's risk assessments/method statements. Generally helping the site manager and Q.S.
In the day-to-day running of a construction site and the processes involved in such a project.
General knowledge of the building industry, health and safety. Asta Powerproject. Scaffolding awareness course. First aid training.
