Questions and answers:

Before you came to Brookes what did you study and where?

A-Level: Business Studies, Design and Technology and Physical Education at Wellingborough School

What made you choose Brookes as a place to study?

Brookes is a growing university in a vibrant city, with a good social and academic profile. The reputation of the Built Environment is well documented and this was a great help in my decision process.

What do you think of the course now you're here?

The course challenges you to use the vast diversity of knowledge gained in different modules and put these into practise in group construction projects. I didn't expect the volume of work set by the course as it's quite a practical profession but it has aided me with my time management which is another important skill to use in the future.

What do you think of the industrial placement aspect of your course?

The industrial placement allows you to learn by doing and allows you to demonstrate your knowledge you have gained over the past two years. Another good point is that it gives you experience and contacts for the future to aid with employment after graduation.

What are your plans for when you've completed your course, for work or further study?

I will be seeking employment after a summer break.

What are the best bits of studying at Brookes?

The campus is compact and everything's easily accessible. The student orientated city offers a wide range of social actives and housing opportunities.

What advice do you have for others?
