Before you came to Brookes what did you study and where?
Studied the following at Haydon 6th Form: A/S Law A-Level - Computer programming, Media, Product design with materials and General Studies.
What made you choose Brookes as a place to study?
Oxford the area itself appealed to me and the fact Oxford Brookes accredits the degree I wanted with RICS and CIOB accreditation.
What do you think of the course now that you're here?
I so far have enjoyed the course, however there are improvements I would suggest such as more practical experience e.g. more site engineering and estimating.
What do you think of the industrial placement aspect of your course?
Allows for a clear insight and understanding of how the construction industry functions, as well as allowing for first hand knowledge to be attained.
What are your plans for when you've completed your course, for work or further study?
Further study, as I would like to obtain my masters in Construction Project management and my RICS accreditation.
What are the best bits of studying at Brookes?
Living in Oxford and the close more personal teaching employed by Brookes.
What advice do you have for others?
Perhaps do a month long summer placement with a firm before starting the course or in the 1st year of uni to see if this is the route you wish to go down and to give you a clearer idea of where within the industry you wish to go.
