  • Countryside properties was established in 1958 by the Cherry Family as a house builder, as time when on they developed in to commercial property, communities development, redevelopment and sustainable development. In 2005 the Cherry's merged with the Royal Bank of Scotland and they now have an annual turn over in excess of £500 Million.

  • What is your company's involvement with Oxford Brookes University?
  • Countryside's relationship to Oxford Brookes, is simply to offer work experience to both under graduate and post-graduate students, though our work experience / training set up.

  • What do you think is the value, to business in general and your company in particular, of being involved with Brookes?
  • Having a relationship with Oxford Brookes, helps us to promote our company to the up and coming life blood of the construction industry. Such a relationship of give and take, placement and promotion helps us to source our management for the future.

  • What do you think is the value to Brookes of being involved with your company?
  • Having a relationship to Countryside Properties gives Brookes and its students, the opportunity of exposure to a company that is well establish in the housing and commercial sectors of construction industry and that is looking to the future in terms of green and sustainable developments.

  • How do you think students benefit from being involved with your company / doing work experience with your company?
  • Students will gain invaluable experience from a successful, experienced and professional company, into which ever area of the company they choose to work in.

  • What are your impressions of Brookes in terms of how the university relates to industry/business /employers?
  • Our impressions of Brookes are that the university has a professional set up that prepares students for the industry they are entering, it helps them on there way by having strong working relationships perspective employers and keeping up to date with the latest the in the industry.

  • How do you rate Brookes students/graduates?
  • We rate Brookes student highly as they have clearly come from a strong school of the Built Environment.

  • What do you think Brookes students/ graduates bring to a company and to the work-place?
  • Brookes students appear to be well prepared, enthusiastic and confident. They bring these qualities though within there work.
